In July 2021 Warmco were asked to install three Powrmatic CPX300, natural gas fired, floor-standing cabinet heaters, into this 50,000 square foot, airport equipment manufacturing facility in Hull.
The assembly and despatch spaces within these manufacturing premises were suffering from poor levels of insulation and heat loss. Our customer therefore invited us to heat the space with modern, efficient heating equipment, which could get the space up to target quickly. To this end, we installed three Powrmatic CPX300, floor standing unit heaters, which each have a maximum heat output of 290kw, and can be used to get the space quickly to a higher temperature. However, once the MC200 control panels detect that this has been achieved, the heater has the capacity to modulate its heat output down to 170 kw, to ‘top up’ the heat as required. Typical this can offer a fuel cost saving of up to 30% against standard non-modulating models. We also installed six CECX destratification fans. The addition of these fans allows the redistribution of the heat that would normally gather at the high levels of this six-metre-high (plus) building. The addition of this type of equipment, can also offer a fuel cost saving of around 30% to the end user. This heating was installed over a two-week period, and by working closely with the site supervisors, our engineers were able to minimise any potential disruption to the customer’s all-important despatch activities.
