Customer Brief:

In July 2019 SCA Essity, the health and hygiene products provider, commissioned Warmco to replace a faulty Norde Air Niche system, with two suspended, gas fired, Winterwarm, TRC150 ducted, warm air heaters and a TR150 suspended space heater, into this large modern portal framed warehouse and manufacturing unit.

Features of the Heating System:

These modern premises were fully insulated and constructed to modern building regulations, however the issue for this customer was that they needed to heat two distinct areas differently. Firstly this toilet roll manufacturer needed to heat the paper processing area. The issue with this was that we needed to ensure that any dust particles would not run past the heat exchanger. We fitted a fan enclosure box with a filter to take dust from the air passing through the fans. We also used a room sealed flue system to ensure that the air put through the heat exchanger would be fresh air drawn from outside the building, thus prolonging the life of the heat exchanger. Secondly, to try to create a more uniform temperature in the warehouse, and to maintain a damp free environment for the storage of their products, we suggested the installation of one of our TR150 space heaters. This modulating heater will automatically switch to low fire (from 145kw down to 94kw), once the thermostat detects that the area is at the desired temperature. This can deliver a saving of up to 30% on running costs (compared to non-modulating heaters). The whole installation was completed within seven days, and we were careful to work around the customer, so that we didn’t impede their access.
